As per usual for a Friday night in the Quinte region, it was a busy evening for hockey.
The Wellington Dukes fell 6-2 to the Markham Royals, as heard on CJBQ last night. Kyle Prendel and Nic Mucci scored for the Dukes, while Evan Foley pitched in with a pair of assists. Victor-Olivier Courchesne stopped 32 pucks before being ejected in controversial fashion towards the end of the second period.

Connor Ryckman took over and made nine saves on 11 shots the rest of the way.
Final shots favoured Markham 47-37. Wellington is back in action Sunday when they head to Aurora to wrap up a busy weekend. Game time 7 p.m., CJBQ on the air at 6:50 for Prinzen Ford Sales of Bloomfield.
Meanwhile, the Trenton Golden Hawks were involved in a 6-2 result as well, only they were on the winning side of that count versus the Stouffville Spirit.
Anthony Sorrentino, Jeremy Pullara (two goals, one assist each) and Liam Morgan (three assists) paced the offensive attack for Trenton with three points each.
Lucas Brown and Mac Lewis added the other goals for the G-Hawks.
Chris Janzen stopped 28 shots in the victory.
Final shots favoured Trenton largely, 61-30. Next action for the G-Hawks is a stop in Kingston next Thursday. That one will also be on CJBQ for Eastern Overhead Doors.
And in Jr C play, a Justynn Steven natural hat-trick in the second period lifted the Napanee Raiders over the Picton Pirates 5-2.
Tyler Ignazzitto and Chris Rogalsky added other markers for Napanee. Trey Maracle and former Raider Jordon Cannons replied for the Pirates.
Jeremy Wasson turned aside 22 shots in the win, Aaron Young made 41 saves in a losing cause.
