He is one of the greatest NHL goaltenders of all time and this weekend he will be in The County.
On Saturday, the Drake Devonshire restaurant is hosting the Barn Burner Hockey game and cooking evening.
The special guest is Ken Dryden, the Hall of Famer and six time Stanley Cup champion. He was also part of the 1972 Summit Series team. Dryden will help coach the game. The friendly hockey game at Essroc Arena at 2:00 p.m. and will feature a number of chefs from Toronto, playing chefs from Montreal.
Jayna Hefford, a 5 time Olympic champion & 12 time world champion with the Canadian women’s national hockey team, and Mike Krushelnyski (3 time Stanley Cup champion) will coach the Toronto team. Jamie Lee Rattray (Cdn national women’s team) and Jess Jones will join as secret weapons/ringers.
The Prince Edward County restaurant says they are doing the event to kick off our celebrations of Canada’s 150th anniversary with a fun event focused on some of our favourite Canadian things – food and hockey, that celebrate the community.
There will also be a family skate with some food earlier in the day at the Wellington outdoor rink (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.)
Following the event, the chefs will be back at the Drake for an evening of food.
