Residents of a large section of a Belleville apartment building, hit by fire in November, have still not been able to return home.
Thirty-seven people were rescued from the seniors’ social services building on Turnbull Street after fire broke out on the second floor November 4, causing heavy smoke and heat damage.
Hastings County CAO Jim Pine tells Quinte News sixteen units have been re-occupied but another 21 are not yet ready.
Pine says these are still undergoing re-construction and will be “for some months”.
