If you’re driving in the Picton area today, you may want to avoid Church Street, as there will be ongoing emergency watermain leak repairs taking place.
Officials from Prince Edward County say to avoid the area from now until about 7 p.m., as lane restrictions or closures are expected.
Watermain repairs will not impact water quality; however residents living within the affected area may experience pressure fluctuations, temporary loss of pressure and coloured water. The water remains safe to drink throughout the duration of leak detection.
County Wastewater crews say that if coloured water is experienced, customers are encouraged to flush their water lines at the cold water tap nearest to the water metre once maintenance is complete.
