The City of Belleville’s participation in the solar FIT and MicroFIT programs is now complete.
Solar panels are now installed and online on the roofs of the Water Treatment Plant and Neil Britton Building.
Belleville now owns 3 large and 3 smaller solar panel installations on some of its facilities.
City staff estimates that the revenue from the installations will total around $600,000 this year.
Money from the sale of the green energy flows into the city’s general revenues.
