Trenton’s newest elementary school will officially open early next month.
The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board says the new Trent River Public School will welcome students for classes on Tuesday February 7th.
The new school will amalgamate students from Breadner Elementary and College Street Public Schools and school board staff and teachers are currently putting final touches on the transition process.
As part of that, there will be no classes for students at those two schools on Monday February 6th, so parents will have to find other childcare arrangements for the day.
A letter has been sent home explaining the plan and busing arrangements for the first day and the school board says an official grand opening will be held in the coming months.
