A former Belleville Mayor has chimed in on the controversy surrounding conflict of interest allegations against Taso Christopher.
Speaking on the Lorne Brooker Show, Ross McDougall discussed the Notice of Application filed Thursday, which accuses the mayor of voting on a roundabout, that includes a land purchase from a numbered company he is a director of.
McDougall says Christopher declared the conflict on day one of capital budget, but not the second day, when the vote took place.
McDougall says if he is a director of the company and the city needs to purchase the plot of land, it could be a conflict of interest.
Quinte News has made multiple requests to the mayor for comment.
