The Chief of the Stirling-Rawdon Police Service says any incidents involving his officers are investigated thoroughly.
At a recent Stirling-Rawdon Police Board meeting, residents Greg Oliver and Wayne Martin questioned Chief Dario Cecchin about a couple of accidents involving police officers and an incident in June in which an officer accidentally shot himself at the police station.
Chief Cecchin said every incident is investigated to see if charges against officers are warranted.
He said in the gunshot incident, the Belleville Police Service was called in to investigate and the evidence was turned over to a Crown Attorney who decided charges should not be laid.
