Napanee OPP have charged a pair of Kingston men following a police chase that ended in Tyendinaga.
On January 15 at 10:05 p.m. an officer with the Napanee detachment attempted to stop a silver 2000 Honda Civic four door with improper licence plates that was traveling north on Centre Street in the Town of Greater Napanee.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop for police and was stopped at 10:16 p.m. on York Road with the assistance of an officer from the Tyendinaga Police Service.
Police investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from the City of Kingston.
The driver of the vehicle, 19 year-old Benn Trecartin has been charged with the following: flight while pursued by police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, possession of property obtained by crime, failing to comply with probation and theft under $5,000.
The passenger of the vehicle, 22 year old Gary Jansen has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with probation.
Both of the accused were released on a Promise to Appear and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on February 14, 2016.
