UPDATE 12:45 P.M.: The left eastbound lane of the 401 at Wooler Rd is open again however remains extremely slippery. Drivers advised to use caution. Also emergency response crews have cleared the scene at at Foxboro-Sitling Road.
Freezing rain is causing transportation havoc in much of the Quinte and surrounding area.
On the eastbound 401 in Trenton, drivers are advised to stay to the right as the left lane is closed near County Road 40 in Trenton where emergency crews are on the scene of a three vehicle crash.
Reports from the scene indicate one vehicle is in the median, one on the shoulder and the other in the ditch. One of the drivers is said to be uninjured. There are no further details at this time.
Meanwhile, emergency response crews are at the scene of a single vehicle collision at Foxboro-Sitling Road near Baptist Church Road. The roadway is expected to be open at 11:30 a.m.
Environment Canada is urging motorists to be careful, noting highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
