There will be a public meeting Tuesday in Madoc regarding proposed school closures.
Due to declining enrolment, the Hastings Prince Edward School Board is considering closing schools and moving students in Belleville, Prince Edward County and Centre Hastings.
In Centre Hastings, it’s proposed that Madoc Township Public School be closed and students consolidated to Madoc Public.
Also, it’s recommended that grade 7 and 8 students from Madoc Public be moved to empty space at Centre Hastings Secondary School.
The first of several public meetings on the issue will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m at Centre Hastings Secondary.
