A Belleville man has been handed a 90-day intermittent jail sentence in connection with a stabbing incident.
Twenty-five-year-old Daniel Downer, who pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon and mischief, was also handed a 10-year weapons ban and 12 months of probation.
Court heard Downer was arrested after 29-year-old Kyle Hallissey of Belleville was stabbed during an altercation last June involving a glass bottle.
Hallissey, who had illegally entered a home in the neighbourhood a short time earlier, was sentenced to one day pre-sentence custody after he pleaded guilty to being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
