Local conservation officials are warning again about the dangers of walking on, or near, frozen lakes and streams during this mild stretch of weather.
Quinte Conservation says warmer temperatures in recent days have made ice conditions deteriorate across the region, making it unsafe for skating, ice fishing, or other wintertime activities.
You’re being reminded to stay off all frozen waterways in the area, until temperatures drop and conditions improve and parents are being asked to speak to their kids about the dangers posed by frozen waterways and the slippery banks around them.
