The new year in Quinte West is all about getting capital projects in the queue moving towards tender and construction.
Mayor Jim Harrison says the focus will be on getting the new fire hall contracted out and getting the design completed for the new OPP station.
Other notable projects to look forward to in 2017 are repairs to the Murray Canal bridge, continued resurfacing of rural roads, upgrades to the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens and Centennial Park boat launch.
The Trenton Golden Hawks will also be hosting the Dudley Hewitt Cup in 2017.
On the health care front he says doctor recruitment will be a big focus as well as working toward a Hospice.
