A Belleville man will appear in court Thursday, after someone tried to rob a variety store last night.
Belleville police say a man wearing a disguise and carrying a knife walked into a west end store at 10 last night and demanded cash.
There was a brief argument with the clerk and the suspect took off on foot empty handed.
Police caught up to a man matching the suspect’s description shortly after.
He was charged with armed robbery, and other charges are pending.
