A third suspect has been charged in an ongoing investigation into stolen firearms from a home on Big Island in Prince Edward County.
According to police on November 26, four firearms, all long guns were reported stolen.
An investigation between Prince Edward OPP, Napanee OPP Crime Unit and Tyendinaga Police Service resulted in a search warrant being executed at two residences on the Tyendinaga Territory two weeks later.
On December 8, 47-year-old Richard Robin Caird of the County and 42-year-old Tyson Chernuck of Tyendinaga Territory were charged with several criminal offences and have court dates in January 2017.
On Tuesday, Prince Edward OPP report 30-year-old Karl Piirainen of Tyendinaga Territory was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of a Firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order. he has a February 1 court date.
Three of the four stolen firearms have been recovered.
