It’s another holiday day for most people today, and unlike yesterday, this day should be easy to take.
Yesterday brought a nightmarish Boxing Day travel scenario to Eastern Ontario. A period of freezing rain in the morning caused literally hundreds of accidents and the 401 westbound at Brighton was closed for hours.
Later yesterday, highway 7 was closed for several hours in the Tweed area, due to an accident caused by icy conditions.
Things got so bad by yesterday afternoon that tow trucks were pulled off of the roads for the drivers’ own safety.
However, peace has settled on the land, all roads and highways are open, and the forecast looks non-threatening.
