A Christmas day ride in the woods in Point Anne got a little dicey for a 74 year old Belleville man late yesterday afternoon (Christmas Day).
The Thurlow ward man and two friends were out on their ATVs in the woods near the Bay of Quinte east of urban Belleville when one of the ATVs broke through the ice on the shoreline of the bay.
The man’s friends left him and made their way out to a phone to call emergency services.
Belleville firefighters and police eventually located the man in good condition around 7 o’clock.
The trio had left on their excursion at 3:30 in the afternoon.
