Some local manufacturers were happy to open at least some of their mail this week.
The Quinte Economic Development Commission delivered over $164,000 worth of cheques to manufacturers.
The cheques covered 45 percent of the cost of training almost 800 employees in the local area.
The subsidies totaled over $400,000 for 2 years and 37 local companies took advantage of the money, offered under the province’s Rural Economic Development Program.
