Work on the new Trent River Public School in Trenton is into the final stages.
The Hastings Prince Edward School Board says there is some electrical and ground work to be done, before furniture and students are moved in, but that should be completed early in the new year.
Trent River PS is being built to house students from Breadner Elementary and College Street Public schools, which will both be closed.
Students at Breadner and College Street will stay in their current schools for at least January 2017 and the board says special open houses and closing ceremonies are being planned as well.
