The CEO of Gaylea Foods is beaming about three local dairy producers that are more than pulling their weight.
Michael Barrett talked to Quinte News about the company’s eastern Ontario hub, Ivanhoe Cheese, along with Black River Cheese in The County and their latest acquisition Stirling Creamery. Stirling was acquired earlier this year.
Barrett says they have 125 full and part time employees in the Quinte region between the three sites.
Barrett says since the purchase of Stirling Creamery, they have increased production.
Barrett says Stirling Creamery has made a big difference for the company.
As far as Black River is concerned Barrett says they are installing a dock on site, so customers and tourists can walk, drive or boat to the store.
He says production is no longer in Milford, it has been moved to Ivanhoe.
