It’s believed police have arrested a suspect known as “The Jay Walking Bandit”. He is the man wanted after several bank robberies in this part of Ontario, including one in downtown Trenton.
Durham Regional Police confirmed that a man closely matching the description of the so called Jay Walking Bandit was arrested last Friday at the On Route at Trenton after someone robbed a bank in Bowmanville that morning and then one in Cobourg at around the noon hour.
The man arrested was a big man, in his 30s, with a beard.
The Jay Walking Bandit was known for robbing banks with a Blue Jays ball hat on and then casually walking away from the robbery scenes.
The downtown Trenton RBC branch was robbed by a man matching the Jay Walking Bandit’s description on November 15th.
Police have not released a name or any other detail.
