The Mayor of Brighton, Mark Walas will be the Warden of Northumberland County in 2017..
Walas was acclaimed at a meeting of County council yesterday in Cobourg.
In his inaugural address, Mayor Walas said he looked forward to playing a leadership role as Northumberland County council continues to pursue improvements in transportation, the local economy and a new Golden Plough Lodge.
Walas will replace outgoing Warden Gil Brocanier.
