While details of exactly what happened haven’t been put out, OPP in Napanee say they’ve charged an 18 year-old man, after an infant was seriously injured on Sunday.
Officers responded to a home on Centre Street on Sunday morning, around 3:40 a.m., where they found the injured baby. The infant was transported to an Ottawa Hospital and is being treated for life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the baby is under three months old and there is a relationship between the child and the accused, but no other information was given out.
The Napanee man has been charged with aggravated assault, criminal negligence causing bodily harm and failing to provide the necessities of life.
He was scheduled for a bail hearing in Napanee today, where protesters are already marching outside of the courthouse.
