It was a game and a first period to remember for Trenton Golden Hawks and their forward Michael Silveri.
The power forward scored just 0:09 seconds into the game and picked up three points in 8:37 of the first, as Trenton would go on to defeat their rival the Cobourg Cougars4-3.
The first 20 minutes would finish 3-2 in Trenton’s favour.
In the second period, Trenton got into some penalty trouble and Cobourg took the play to the GHawks, however it was the home side with the lone goal. Austin Bottrell scored an unassisted marker, giving Trenton the two goal lead heading into the third.
Cobourg made is a 4-3 contest midway through the period and kept the pressure in Trenton’s end. The Cougars pulled the goalie, but The GHawks would hold on, a 4-3 final.
Trenton’s next action is in Newmarket Thursday night. CJBQ will have the game for Eastern Overhead Doors beginning at 7:20 p.m.
