The Mayor of Quinte West says the new consolidated public works building is not going to be finished until the end of January, at the earliest.
Jim Harrison talked to Quinte News about the $23 million dollar project and says despite the delay, they should still be on time to move in, in May, as they were hoping.
Harrison says the facility in the North Murray Industrial Park had an expected completion date of November 30th, however he says it will likely take several more weeks to complete. One of the issues has been the acquisition of materials.
His Worship says there are penalty clauses in the construction contract, and he says it should not cost taxpayers any more money.
