The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland – Minor Midget
On Wednesday the Minor Midget Red Devils hosted the Clarington Toros and tied the game 2-2. Goals were scored by Graham Dickerson and Jake Campbell as assists went to Logan White and Cameron Supryka(2). Ethan Taylor handled the goaltending duties.
ETA – OMHA Minor Midget Showcase
Saturday was the first of two games at the ETA Showcase in Aurora for the Red Devil Minor Midgets, and their first opponent was the Central Ontario Wolves. They battled hard to skate to a 7-1 victory. Brennan Bush was in net for the Devils and stopped all but one of the 21 shots he faced. Goals were scored by Emmet Pierce(2), Graham Dickerson, Dalton Bancroft, Keegan Hunt, Logan White and Zach Uens while assists went to Jake Campbell(3), Michael Andrews(2), Dalton Bancroft, Keegan Hunt, Daniel Panetta, Zach Uens and Cameron Supryka. The player of the game honours went to Graham Dickerson.
Sunday would be a true test for the Devils as they took on the Ajax Raiders who are among the elite teams in the ETA. The Red Devils came out with determination and took the play to the Raiders and went up 3-0 before the end of the first period. Ethan Taylor was in net and back stopped his team to another victory against one of the league’s best teams as he stopped all but one of the Raiders shots. The Devils would skate to a decisive 10-1 victory against a team that they have not beaten in several years. Goals were scored by Dalton Bancroft(3), Daniel Panetta, Jake Campbell(2), Derrick Vos, Michael Andrews, Emmet Pierce and Graham Dickerson while assists went to Michael Andrews(4), Daniela Panetta(2), Emmet Pierce(3), Connor Kennedy, Logan White(2), Jake Campbell(2) and Zach Uens. The player of the game honours went to Michael Andrews.
Free Flow Petroleum – Bantam
The Free Flow Petroleum Major Bantam Quinte Red Devils had had three games this week finishing with one win and two close losses. The win came first with a 4-0 victory over Ajax-Pickering. Scoring for the Red Devils were Marshall McFarland and Jacob Vreugdenhil each with two. Assists went to Jacob Gilbert, Cole McGuire, Riley St. Pierre, and Vreugdenhil.
The Major Bantams then lost a back and forth game 5-4 to the Barrie Colts. Scorers for Quinte included Vreugdenhil with two, Curtis Dicks with one and Connor MacGregor with the other. Assists went to Jaxen Boyer, St. Pierre, Cooper Rogers, Gilbert and Vreugdenhil. The Devils finished their northern road trip with a 3-2 loss to North Central. Goals were scored by Isaac Langdon and Jacob Gilbert. Assists going to MacGregor, Langdon, Vreugdenhil and St. Pierre.
Madison Excavating – Atom
The Madison Excavating Major Atoms took another 4 points this past weekend with 2 big wins in league play. On Saturday, the Devils played host to the York-Simcoe Express. The two teams went toe to toe matching speed and offensive opportunities but it was the Express who struck in the dying minutes of the first to take the lead. Quinte wasted no time tying it up 1-1 on a shot from Landon Wright, assisted by Ty McCambridge. York-Simcoe took the lead again shortly after but it would be the last time in the game as the Devils found their stride in the third. Quinte added 4 goals in the period to secure the 5-2 win. Scoring in the third for Quinte was Gage Butcher, Beckett Ewart(2) and Jared Langdon. The set ups in the third came from Wright, Ewart, Landon(2), Ty Therrien(3) and Carson Campbell. Dean Spry recorded the win in net.
Sunday had the Major Atoms on the road to face the Generals in Oshawa. Despite a fury of scoring chances the Devils were held off the scoreboard through the first and second periods. It was Liam Philip who opened up the scoring in the third to give Quinte a 1-0 lead. Less than 30 seconds later, Therrien added another to make it a 2-0 game in the Devils favour. Glen McInnes recorded the shut out.
On Deck: The Madison Excavating Major Atoms will travel to Vaughan this upcoming weekend to participate in the Vaughan Kings Tournament.
Bonn Law – Minor Peewee
The Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Minor Peewee team played just one game this week, but earned two important points against their Eastern division rival Whitby Wildcats. In a fast paced, tight checking game, the two teams exchanged goals in the first two periods and would head into the third period tied 1-1. It was the Wildcats who took the lead early in the third period, but the Devils were quick to respond, scoring just 28 seconds later to tie the game at two. The Devils scored with under five minutes left in the game, and added an empty net goal to seal the deal in a 4-2 win. Ethan Miedema had a pair of goals in the win, including the empty netter. Also lighting the lamp for the home team was Ethan Quick and Cal Uens. Chipping in with helpers on the goals was Spencer Cranley, Christopher Brydges, Ethan Miedema, Duncan Schneider, Benjamin Lynch and Jack Dever. Aidan Crowley had another strong game between the pipes to earn the win.
On Deck: The Minor Peewee Devils head to Toronto next weekend to participate in the Vaughn Kings Classic.
Vanderlaan Building Supplies – Minor Bantam
The Vanderlaan Building Supplies Minor Bantams earned four points last weekend. On Saturday Dec. 3 the team hosted the York Simcoe Express in the second match up of the season. The first period of the game would remain scoreless but the Devils took the lead part way through the second with a goal from Ben White, assisted by Lucas Culhane and Gavin Camp. The third period saw the Devil’s take a 2-0 lead with a goal from Aiden Treverton assisted by Daniel Michaud and Zack Brooks. York Simcoe pulled their goalie for the extra attacker at the end of the game and with only one second left on the clock they found the back of the net. Devils won the the game with a final score of 2-1. Ethan Fraser was in net for the win and Brock Kelsh was awarded player of the game.
On Sunday December 4, 2016 the Devils hosted the Peterborough Petes. The game was action packed with both goals and penalties, however, the Devils would come out out on top with a commanding 7-2 win. Goals were scored by Ben White (4), Daniel Michaud (2) and Connor Brooks. Helpers from Desi Davies, Lucas Culhane, Blake Maracle, Ethan Broek, Ben White, Jett Butler and Connor Brooks. Dixon Grimes was in net for the win and Connor Brooks was awarded player of the game.
On Deck: The Devils are in action on Wednesday Dec. 7 at 7:45 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre to take on the Whitby Wildcats.
Foley Bus Lines – Peewee
The Foley Bus Lines Peewee Red Devils earned another 2 points in ETA action with a win over the North Central Predators. On Saturday Dec 3, the Foley Bus Lines Peewees hosted the North Central Predators at the QSWC. The Predators got on the board first; just 40 seconds into the match, by scoring on a break away. The Devils would answer with three first period goals as Corbin Roach, Liam Filip and Dalyn Wakely found the back of the Predators net. Trevor Hoskin assisted twice, while Corbin Roach, Cooper Matthews and Donovan McCoy has single assists. The second period would end scoreless as each team found the penalty box for most of the period. Donovan McCoy would add a fourth Devil goal in the third period as he joined the rush and lit the lamp on feeds from Trevor Hoskin and Corbin Roach. Final score was 4 to 1 in favour of the Devils with Andrew Munro making key saves guarding the Devils net.

Topper’s Pizza – Novice
The Topper’s Pizza Novices split a pair of road games recently. On Saturday the Novices travelled to Lindsay for a match against the high powered Central Ontario Wolves and lost 5-1. Kolby Craig scored the lone goal for the Devils, assisted by Ryland Cunningham and Blake Leblanc.
On Sunday the Devils travelled to Aurora to face the York Simcoe Express and skated to a 4-0 win. Nowl Wallace picked up the shut out. Scoring for the Devils was Kaden Koutroulides, Kolby Craig, Ryland Cunningham and Brendan Reid. Kaden Koutroulides (2), Riley Reid, Blake Leblanc, Cooper Kelly and Jack Foley picked up assists.
