More changes are coming in the New Year on how health and physical education are taught in the classroom for grades 1 through 12.
At Friday’s Hastings and Prince Edward Board of Health meeting, Beth Shaw, Public Health Nurse in the Sexual Health Program said in 2017 they will be rolling out a more intensive promotion for more visual and electronic lesson plans to aid teachers and students.
In 2015, the province implemented a new sexual education curriculum and this will stay the same however a new interactive lesson plan will be offered.
Shaw said when she teaches, the paper version curriculum is difficult to execute and an electronic version will make is easier for everyone.
A date for when the electronic version will be ready is to be announced.
