Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher officiated at the swearing-in ceremony for six new firefighters, during the city council meeting this week.
The volunteer firefighters, all at fire station #3, have been on probation with the Belleville Fire Department for one year.
Deputy Chief Bruce Greatrix says the department usually loses one or two volunteers every couple of years, and new ones are recruited.
