424 (Transport and Rescue) Squadron will be conducting flare training over Lake Ontario, south of Brighton and west of Prince Edward County, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, November 24.
In the area during this time, a CC-130H Hercules will be launching yellow-white flares from an altitude no higher than 5500 ft. above sea level.
It is standard practice to advise community neighbours of training in the local area. This training is in support of nighttime SAR missions and allows 424 (T&R) Squadron to practice night flying and spotting procedures. This training is not expected to pose a disturbance to the community.
