Veteran skater Paul Pickard won a silver medal at the 1st East Regional Short Track Speed Skating Competition in Kingston. Pickard was one of 17 members of the Quinte Blades Speed Skating Club who took part and collectively recorded 31 personal best times. Alex Caulfield had a 4th place finish.
Diane Roebuck led the way for the Quinte Blades Special Olympics skaters with 4 first place finishes. Nicole Ferguson had 3-firsts, Adam James a first and 2 seconds and Kai Freeland earned a first, second and third.
The second East-Regional competition will be held at Belleville’s Wally Dever Arena December 10th
