Santa has come and departed the friendly city, though it was easily noted that the jovial rotund father of Christmas brought the winter season right along with him.
As hundreds crowded the parade route from Bridge Street West, along Front and up North Front Street, chilly winds and the first significant snow flurries of this season assaulted spectators.
Poor weather conditions caused delays from the parade’s 4:30 p.m. start time, though the city truck salted the route, accounting for only roughly 15 minutes of the over an hour delay, for freezing children and parents determined to see jolly Saint Nick.
Well over 75 floats participated in the annual nighttime Belleville Santa Claus parade.
