The Napanee Raiders made it tough on the Port Hope Panthers, but in the end, the Provincial Junior C Hockey League’s powerhouse remained undefeated Saturday night.
Andrew Gurr’s goal at the 5:25 mark of overtime gave the Panthers their 17th win in a row.
Matthew Scott scored a goal and added an assist, former Wellington Duke Brodie Maracle also potted one and Riley Steeves had the other marker.
Matt Loveys had an admirable performance in the loss, making 53 saves.
Shots favoured Port Hope 57-24.
Elsewhere last night, Campbellford remained winless, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Amherstview Jets.
Matthew Tarbutt had the Rebels’ only goal. Dryden Bedard and Adam McCormick both saw action in the crease for Campbellford.
Sunday night action in the PJHL sees the Picton Pirates travel to Gananoque to take on the Islanders. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
