The Trenton Golden Hawks started their three game weekend on the right track, with a 3-2 come from behind win over the visiting Aurora Tigers Friday night.
The Tigers got on the board first, with Mel Melconian scoring at 16:32 of period one, knocking a bouncing puck past Joseph Murdaca. Trenton controlled the first however out shooting Aurora 12-5.
In the second the GHawks fell down by a pair, after Aurora made it 2-0 at 4:43 of the period. Carmine Alberga picked up his 4th of the season. After 40 minutes Trenton out shot the Tigers 38-14, grabbing 26 on net in the 2nd. Brayden Lachance was the best player on the ice.
In the third the GHawks continued assault on the Tigers net and finally scored as Michael Silveri hit mesh at 5:20 of the third.
Mac Lewis sniped a short handed marker in the middle of the period to square the affair at two. Dawson Baker would score the go ahead goal at 13:35 on a nice individual effort, a goal which proved to be the difference. The final shots on goal were 52-20 in the GHawks favour.
Josh Allan continued missing action following back surgery earlier this month, while Jeremy Pullara served game one of his three game suspension, picked up during Monday night’s win in Cobourg. Liam Morgan also was out of the lineup.
Trenton is on the road Saturday, as they head to Stouffville to meet the Spirit. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, they are in Aurora for a 7:00 p.m start.
