A new king and queen will be crowned in Prince Edward County Friday night as three weekends of annual Wassail celebrations get underway.
The yearly event pays tribute to the age old tradition of celebrating the harvest before the arrival of winter and takes place on the last two weekends in November and the first weekend of December.
Operations Manager Debby Nolan eagerly described how the merrymakers would travel from house to house singing, feasting and, of course, quenching their thirst with local grog.
