The nativity scene at the annual Belleville Christmas Lights Display
Friday is a big night at Belleville’s waterfront.
The lights will turn on for the annual Christmas display at Jane Forrester Park.
Councillor Garnet Thompson is on the Belleville Christmas Display Committee and says they’re going bigger and better this year.
The display was started on Emily Street in 1958, in memory of two city boys who died in a holiday crash that year, but grew too big and was relocated to the South Front Street park.
Weekly concerts and visits with Santa are also continuing this year.
The lighting is Friday at 5:45 p.m.
