The Belleville Rotary Club honoured several community members for their commitment to the area.
At Capers in The Village, they presented four people with a Paul Harris Fellowship.
The award is in honour of Harris, who created Rotary International, a group of more than one million members worldwide.
Golda Lafferty, her husband Tom Lafferty, Shelby MacPherson and Dona Plumton received the honour.
Plumton was honoured for her work in nursing, volunteering with St Mark’s United Church, Camp Quin-Mo-Lac and the Canadian Cancer Society.
Golda Lafferty received the fellowship for her dedication to the Children’s Foundation. The group commented about how the groups she volunteers with are too many to mention.
Tom Lafferty served as co-angel with his wife Golda for The Children’s Foundation. The former councillor brought the Buy Locally Owned group to Quinte and is active with environmental causes.
Shelby MacPherson works for County Bus Services. She has raised money for the Oncology Clinic, Hospice Quinte and Make-a-Wish, among others .
