The Trenton Golden Hawks staved off a late comeback in a 3-2 Remembrance Day victory over the Newmarket Hurricanes Friday night.
Wearing commemorative jerseys, the G-Hawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals from Liam Morgan, Jeremy Pullara and Michael Silveri, all on the powerplay. Pullara added an assist in a first star effort, while Lucas Brown, Chris Sekelyk, Louis DiMatteo, Austin Bottrell and Andrew Cordssen-David drew single assists.
Joseph Murdaca made 28 saves in a penalty-filled affair.
Trenton is off until Monday when they face the RBC Cup hosts, the Cobourg Cougars.
