Five different local businesses have been honoured for their innovation in the agriculture sector.
At Loyalist College Wednesday morning, MPP Lou Rinaldi honoured the companies with The Premier’s Agri-Food Awards.
Rinaldi says the award is to recognize the great agriculture sector in the province.
The companies include First Ontario Shrimp in Campbellford, Honey Pie Hives and Herbals in Milford, MacKinnon Brothers Brewing in Bath, Pyramid Ferments in Picton and U-Pac Agri-Service in Picton.
Prince Edward Mayor Robert Quaiff says he is not surprised three companies are from The County.
Bay Woodyard is with Honey Pie Hives and Herbals.
Alex Currie is with Pyramid Ferments.
