The City of Quinte West is dealing with an expensive surprise these days.
A watermain leak underground has been discovered on the north side of 401.
The main brings water out to the Glen Miller area.
Quinte West public works staff are monitoring the leak and say water supply or quality to the
area has not been affected.
But, it must be repaired, and the underground surprise is expected to cost between $250,000 and $300,000.
To make the repairs, a new section of pipe will by-pass the leak so residents’ and business’s water supply north of the 401 will not be affected.
It’s hoped the repair will be done by early December.
