The Belleville Police Service has launched Crime Prevention Week.
It began Sunday and runs until Saturday and this year’s theme is Planning Together for Safer Communities.
The Lock It or Lose It campaign is also going this month, running into the Christmas season.
It is aimed at reducing vehicle thefts.
Belleville Inspector Sherri Meeks says they are doing this to save people some heartache.
The Belleville Community Policing will volunteer their time and check vehicles in parking lots throughout the city.
