A heads up for anyone who’s been using the temporary bulk water stations in Prince Edward County. They’ll be removed in the next few weeks.
County officials say the tanks, at the Wellington and District Community Centre and Carrying Place Booster Station, will be removed for the winter sometime within the next few weeks.
The county says the tanks aren’t built to withstand the winter weather and will be removed by Friday November 11th, although an exact date hasn’t been picked.
Bulk water stations at 15 MacSteven Drive in Picton and at 459 Main Street in Wellington will remain available throughout the winter and the two being removed will be added again in the spring, if needed.
The units were put in place in response to the Level 3 Low Water Condition put in place by Quinte Conservation.
