A local MPP is sounding off on the fact he may not be able to attend his own political fundraisers.
Todd Smith was reacting to the Liberal government’s proposed ban on politicians attending fundraisers.
The legislation was introduced amid criticism over fundraising events, that saw cabinet ministers attend private, high-priced functions with stakeholders.
He says these rules should not stop MPPs from attending corn roasts in their own riding.
Smith says these rules are coming out, amid Election Act Charges that are coming out against the Liberals, stemming from the Sudbury by-election’s alleged bribery scandal last year.
