An award-winning Canadian political author has told the Bay of Quinte Federal Liberals Association to pay attention to election-related issues all the time, not just during the campaign.
Michael Harris spoke to the group as part of the “Bridge Speakers Series” and gave a talk about government and justice issues.
Harris tells Quinte News, voters often forget majority governments can sometimes push through legislation while they’re in power.

Harris also told the gathering at Capers Restaurant, it’s important for voters to keep elected officials accountable regardless of their party, in order to preserve a healthy democracy.
He says Liberal voters especially must hold Trudeau to his word and challenge him, even if they may like him, and for all voters to stop treating politicians like celebrities.
Harris, who has authored nine books and sparked four commissions of inquiry into various issues, spoke to the group at Capers Restaurant, as part of the ongoing “Bridge Speakers Series”.
