Search and Rescue Techs at CFB Trenton’s 424 Squadron are gearing up for another couple of nights of flare training over Lake Ontario.
CC-130H Hercules aircraft will fly above the lake, just south of Brighton and to the west of Prince Edward County, launching yellow-white flares, from about 5,500 feet.
The exercises will take place between 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. tonight, tomorrow and Thursday.
CFB Trenton officials say the training shouldn’t pose any disturbance to members of the community, but you might notice the flashes in the sky, depending on cloud cover.
