Quinte West’s Planning Committee has given the green light to a new housing development in the heart of Batawa.
At its meeting Thursday, the committee approved an official amendment, a zoning change, and a draft plan of subdivision for the Batawa Development Corporation.
If Quinte West council gives final approval, work will begin as soon as possible on a 41-house development on vacant lands near the former Bata Shoe plant.
The zoning would allow for some home based small business as well.
