There will be an influx of military personnel from CFB Kingston, to CFB Trenton, as Canadian Forces members take part in a crucial training exercise, starting Friday.
The 1st Canadian Division is conducting a week-long non-combatant evacuation operation in Trenton, Belleville and Prince Edward County.
Public Affairs Officer Major Richard Langlois tells Quinte News, the exercises all revolve around getting Canadian and allied citizens out of conflict zones, where commercial travel has been halted.
Langlois says the last time these procedures were needed in a conflict situation, was in Libya in 2011, but that similar processes were followed when evacuating refugees from countries like Turkey in the last couple of years.
