The large dairy products cooperative, Gay Lea Foods, has purchased another business in the Quinte region.
Effective on November 1st, Mississauga based Gay Lea will be the owner of Stirling Creamery.
The change in ownership will not affect the operation of Stirling Creamery, which has 25 employees.
Gay Lea says the deal will give it more flexibility to expand its production capacity to meet what’s currently a high demand for butter.
Stirling Creamery was founded by the West family in 1925.
Gay Lea also owns Ivanhoe and Black River Cheese in this area.
