A 37-year-old Belleville man has been charged with a series of sex offences against a young girl.
In June 2016, Belleville police began an investigation into allegations of sex assault after the girl disclosed unwanted touching.
As a result of a joint investigation by the Belleville Police Service and the Highland Shores Children’s Aid Society, on October 17th, 2016, the suspect was charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, sexual interference on a person under 16 years of age and sexual exploitation.
He was released with conditions and given a court date in early November 2016.
His name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
