The man behind the “Push For Change” to end youth homelessness says Belleville holds a very special place in his heart.
BC native Joe Roberts stopped at the Market Square on Wednesday, as part of his cross-Canada walk with a shopping cart, raising awareness about youth homelessness and money for support programs.
He tells Quinte News, he got extremely emotional when he arrived in the Friendly City.
He added that enrolling at Loyalist College was a major turning point for him.
Roberts says the key to ending youth homelessness lies within in-school homelessness prevention programs and they’re hoping to raise about $17 million dollars towards those types of programs.
